Hardly Asked Questions
What is a ‘sammervash’?
sammervash |sah-mer-vah-sh|
unrequited noun
1 two cats and a gunslinger.
Where were you born?
I was born and raised in Canada, although my background is Chinese. I do not speak the language so I call myself a ‘fake Asian’, but I am very proud of my heritage.
How old are you?
I’m twenty.
Do you go to school?
Right now I am in my first year at the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in political studies; I hope sociology will be added to the list. My academic dream would be to obtain a PhD in these areas.
I also attended a Bible College in Abbotsford, BC, prior to the U of S (Columbia Bible College, for those who are interested) for a year after high school.
So does that mean you’re a Christian?
Yes, that also means I’m a Christian; you may now be promoted to ‘detective’ for your expert deduction skills.
What denomination?
I was raised in a Methodist church for sixteen years, went to college mainly dominated by Mennonites and attended a much-loved Baptist church (both in Abbotsford for a year), and I now attend an Anglican church here in Saskatoon. I don’t believe in denominations, though, I believe in God.
What Canadian Party do you vote for?
Well, right now I’m not very happy with any Canadian party to be honest. If I said I was proud of Canada’s democratic government, I’d be lying (which would make me eighty-six percent politician). In terms of ideologies, however, I am socialist – yes, all that “society as a whole” deal. I try to be as open-minded as possible, though, so I do appreciate and acknowledge beliefs/values from other ideologies.
