Here you will find a list of charities with a little description about the charity’s mission. If you comment with a charity, I will donate ten-dollars to that charity (with a max of fifty dollars each month). If you feel inspired, please donate some money to whichever charity you choose.
Note: Please try and suggest charities that allows online payment, as it does not require the giver to be a resident of the charity’s home for him or her to donate which might hinder donating.

The Dalit Freedom = new window/tab | same window
The Dalit Freedom Network works with Dalits to help them break out of their oppression in India. The Dalits are also known as the ‘Untouchables’, and are considered the lowest class of people in India, even though the caste system is outlawed. It is considered taboo to even touch the dog of a Dalit. The Dalit Freedom works to provide education, finances, and support, for these terribly outcast, and ostracized group of people.
The Heifer Project = new window/tab | same window
The Heifer Project tries to reduce world poverty through the sharing of animals and their offspring. You can help by donating a flock of geese, or a cow – the people receive special training so they know how to take care of the animal The milk and eggs from these animals will provide nutritious and sustainable foods for people in the Global South. The community is also built as people share their animals’ offspring, teaching others how to take care of them as well. The receiver can also become a giver!
